Charlotte County Airport Authority shall be composed of 5 members, also known as commissioners, one from each county commission district, elected in the same manner as county officials including partisan affiliation.

Commissioners in odd-numbered districts shall be elected every 4 years beginning with the 2016 general election.

Commissioners in even-numbered districts shall be elected every 4 years beginning with the 2014 general election.

Each candidate for commissioner must reside in the district from which they seek election for at least 6 months immediately before qualifying to run for office.

Section 2 of chapter 63-1207, Laws of Florida, relating to obsolete provisions for the Charlotte County Development Commission, is repealed.
