Exempts school district after-drill reports and law enforcement or fire official recommendations from public records requirements under Florida law and the state constitution.

Exemption applies to reports summarizing emergency drills conducted at each school in the district and identifies school strengths and weaknesses in conducting those drills.

Exemption is subject to the Open Government Sunset Review Act and automatically repeals on October 2, 2018, unless the legislature reenacts it.

Cites Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting (December 14, 2012) and Columbine High School shooting (April 20, 1999) as justification, stating disclosure could expose school safety measures to persons intending harm.

Effective date is contingent on HB 989 or similar legislation being adopted and becoming law in the same legislative session.
