Requires students to earn one-half credit in health education as an independent graduation requirement, separate from physical education.

Allows students to waive the health education requirement if they request and score "C" or better on a health education assessment developed by the Department of Education.

Reduces elective course requirements from 7.5 credits to 7.5 credits by incorporating the new health education requirement into core curriculum instead of electives.

Removes the phrase "to include integration of health" from the physical education requirement, making health education a standalone subject.

Takes effect July 1, 2013.
