Exempts misconduct complaints filed against agency employees and all related investigation information from public records disclosure until the investigation becomes inactive or the employee receives written notice of the investigation's conclusion.

Exemption terminates when the agency notifies the employee that it either concluded the investigation without proceeding with disciplinary action or concluded the investigation with intent to proceed with disciplinary action or file charges.

Exemption is subject to the Open Government Sunset Review Act and automatically repeals on October 2, 2018, unless the Legislature reenacts it.

Legislature finds the exemption necessary to protect sensitive personal information, encourage voluntary participation in internal investigations, and ensure fair agency investigations without deterring witnesses from providing information.

Effective date is July 1, 2013.
