Authorizes $697,500 payment to the Estate of Dr. Sherrill Lynn Aversa from unappropriated trust fund balances of the Department of Transportation as compensation for her death caused by departmental negligence on June 21, 1999.

Directs the Chief Financial Officer to draw a warrant for $697,500 from Department of Transportation funds to be paid to the Estate of Dr. Sherrill Lynn Aversa.

The $697,500 award includes attorney fees and costs, with a maximum cap of 25 percent allowable for attorney fees, lobbying fees, and other similar expenses.

Combined with the $100,000 already paid by the Department of Transportation under statutory liability limits in Florida Statutes section 768.28, the total compensation of $797,500 is intended as the sole remedy for all present and future claims arising from Dr. Aversa's death.

Takes effect upon becoming law.
