HB 1189 Summary

• Exempts auctioneers conducting motor vehicle auction contests from licensure if a licensed auctioneer is on site to monitor the sanctioned contest

• Eliminates licensure requirements for auctioneer apprentices and removes references to apprentices from auctioneer regulations

• Deregulates hair braiding, hair wrapping, and body wrapping by removing registration requirements and exempting these practitioners from the Florida Cosmetology Act

• Repeals Part VIII of chapter 559, Florida Statutes, which regulates the Sale of Business Opportunities Act, with conforming amendments to cross-references in related chapters

• Takes effect July 1, 2013
