City of Hollywood is authorized and directed to appropriate $100,000 from city funds and issue a warrant payable to Ronald Miller as compensation for injuries sustained due to employee negligence.

Payment compensates Miller for a motor vehicle accident on July 30, 2002, when a city utilities truck driven by Robert Mettler crashed head-on into Miller's pickup truck, causing injuries to both his knees requiring corrective surgeries.

A jury previously entered a final judgment of $1,130,731.89 in Miller's favor, plus $17,257.82 in costs; the City of Hollywood already paid $100,000 under statutory liability limits.

Combined payment from City of Hollywood ($100,000 previously paid plus $100,000 under this act) provides sole compensation for all present and future claims arising from the accident.

Attorney fees, lobbying fees, costs, and other similar expenses relating to the claim may not exceed 25 percent of the $100,000 amount awarded under this act.
