HB 4011 Summary

• Removes requirements that traffic infraction detector notifications and citations include photographs or recorded images showing both the license tag and traffic control device being violated.

• Eliminates county and municipal authority to use traffic infraction detectors to enforce red light violations on local streets and highways under section 316.0083.

• Repeals sections 316.0083, 316.00831, 316.07456, 316.0776, and 321.50 of Florida Statutes, which authorized installation and use of automated red light enforcement systems.

• Removes no-points penalties for red light violations enforced by traffic infraction enforcement officers and prohibits use of such violations for setting motor vehicle insurance rates.

• Takes effect upon becoming law.
