CS/CS/HB 7001 - Repeal of Education Provisions Summary

• Repeals numerous education statutes related to K-12 schools, including provisions on foreign language curriculum plans, parent-response centers, alternative high school credits, diploma designations, and school wellness policies.

• Removes duplicative or unused rulemaking authority from multiple statutes affecting student assessment, curriculum standards, and educational programs across K-12 and higher education.

• Repeals programs and initiatives including the School Infrastructure Thrift (SIT) Program, A Business-Community (ABC) School Program, Effort Index Grants, centers of technology innovation, and the Sunshine Workforce Solutions Grant Program.

• Amends statutes to remove references to repealed sections while maintaining related educational requirements for graduation, assessments, and financial aid eligibility across standard, accelerated, and special diploma pathways.

• Takes effect upon becoming law, with one exception: section 1013.64(7) repeals effective July 1, 2013.
