Designates April 2, 2013, as "FSU Day" in the State of Florida in recognition of Florida State University's contributions to higher education.

Florida State University's main campus in Tallahassee is the oldest continuous site of higher education in Florida and chartered the state's first Phi Beta Kappa chapter in 1935.

The university offers 324 degree programs across 16 colleges and schools with a faculty of 1,737 members, including 9 National Academy of Sciences members and 6 Nobel Laureates.

Florida State University's fall 2012 freshman class had an average high school GPA of 4.0, average SAT score of 1857, and average ACT score of 28.

A copy of the resolution is to be presented to Florida State University President Dr. Eric J. Barron.
