Designates March 10-16, 2013, as "Nurse Practitioner Awareness Week" in Florida.

Recognizes that nurse practitioners earn national certification after passing rigorous educational and clinical examinations and deliver safe, high-quality health care in primary care, hospital care, prenatal and maternity care, and psychiatric care.

Notes that nurse practitioners account for 20 percent of all Medicaid primary care providers in Florida and are often the only health care providers available to uninsured patients and those covered by Medicaid or Medicare.

References the Institute of Medicine's call for removal of restrictions preventing nurse practitioners from serving within their full scope of education and training to promote seamless, affordable, high-quality health care.
