Legislature established Pasco-Hernando Community College (PHCC) in 1967 as the 28th and final community college in Florida, with first student enrollment in fall 1972.

PHCC operates campuses in Brooksville, Dade City, New Port Richey, and Spring Hill, with the Porter Campus at Wiregrass Ranch in Wesley Chapel scheduled to open in 2014.

College has awarded more than 32,000 degrees and credentials and serves more than 15,000 students annually with more than 60 career and academic programs.

PHCC alumni include a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist, members of the Legislature and U.S. Congress, and professionals in medicine, law, education, and other fields.

Intercollegiate athletic programs won several regional and state championships, including a national championship in women's volleyball in 2010.
