Prohibits denying employment to persons providing personal treatment, counseling, or services to criminal offenders solely based on the applicant's own prior criminal history.

Allows persons with criminal records employed or applying to work in organizations serving criminal offenders to apply for exemption from employment disqualification without waiting periods otherwise required by law.

Applies exemptions to background screening disqualifications under Florida law regardless of whether offenses are listed in the applicable chapter or other statutes.

Effective July 1, 2013.
