District school boards must list the emergency response agencies responsible for notifying schools of emergencies in their emergency response policies.

Public schools may purchase and maintain epinephrine auto-injectors in locked, secure locations and must adopt a physician-developed protocol for administration by trained personnel during anaphylactic reactions.

School districts and their employees, including physicians providing standing protocols, are not liable for injuries from epinephrine auto-injector use by trained personnel following adopted protocols, except in cases of willful and wanton conduct.

Private schools may purchase and maintain epinephrine auto-injectors under the same requirements as public schools and receive the same liability protections.

Emergency response agencies identified in district school board policies must also notify private schools in the district that opt into the emergency notification procedures.
