Requires an "overt act" as the basis for a reasonable belief that deadly force is necessary to prevent death, great bodily harm, or commission of a forcible felony under the "stand your ground" law.

Defines "unlawful activity" as activity prohibited by Florida state law for purposes of determining eligibility for stand your ground protections.

Removes immunity from criminal prosecution and civil liability if a child or bystander unaffiliated with the overt act is injured during use of force.

Preserves immunity exception when force is used against a law enforcement officer acting in official duties who properly identified themselves or was reasonably identifiable.

Effective date: July 1, 2013.
