Requires the State Board of Education to implement and assess Common Core State Standards in Florida public schools beginning in the 2016-2017 school year.

Standards are designed to ensure students receive high-quality education and provide benchmarks for skills and knowledge that students should attain.

Common Core State Standards assessment shall be used for accountability purposes and affect performance evaluations of students, instructional personnel, and school administrators.

Implementation and assessment of the standards shall be phased in and aligned with existing accountability measures currently provided in law.

Effective date: July 1, 2013.
