Exempts school district after-drill reports and recommendations from participating law enforcement officers or fire officials from public records requirements under Florida Statutes s. 119.07(1) and the State Constitution.

After-drill reports summarize emergency drills conducted at each school in the district and identify strengths and weaknesses in emergency preparedness.

Exemption is subject to the Open Government Sunset Review Act and automatically repeals on October 2, 2018, unless the Legislature reenacts it.

Legislature finds the exemption necessary because detailed emergency drill information and school security vulnerabilities could be exploited by persons intending harm to students, employees, or faculty members.

Effective date is contingent upon the adoption and enactment of related legislation (SB ______) in the same or extended legislative session.
