Fire officials shall enforce wall fire-rating provisions for occupancy separation in one-story or two-story structures less than 10,000 square feet with business or mercantile occupancy as defined in the Florida Building Code.

Structures on agricultural property used for farming or ranching operations are exempt from the Florida Fire Prevention Code if occupancy is limited to no more than 35 persons and the structure is not used for direct public sales or educational outreach.

The agricultural exemption does not apply to structures used for residential or assembly occupancies.

Effective date: July 1, 2013.
