Revises teacher preparation program curricula to include instruction in state standards adopted by the State Board of Education, replacing references to "Sunshine State Standards"

Adds successful completion of Teach For America professional education training program as an acceptable means of demonstrating mastery of professional preparation and education competence

Creates priority enrollment in alternative certification programs for recent graduates (within 2 calendar years) with baccalaureate degrees or higher and minimum 3.5 GPA from accredited institutions

Exempts qualifying recent graduates from testing and examination requirements while enrolled in the alternative certification program, allowing them to obtain 5-year temporary certificates instead of 3-year certificates

Requires the Department of Education to notify public and private institutions of higher learning about alternative certification programs and any changes to related state board rules
