Prohibits state and local government employers from compelling employees who are military spouse to work overtime or extended hours during their spouse's active duty deployment.

Prevents employers from imposing sanctions or penalties on military spouses for refusing or failing to work overtime or extended hours during their spouse's active duty period.

Requires employers to grant military spouses unpaid leave of up to 4 working days to handle matters directly related to their spouse's deployment orders.

Applies to employees of the state, counties, municipalities, and other political subdivisions in Florida.

Effective July 1, 2013.
