Requires residential rental agreements to specify whether renters' insurance is required and include a line for tenant initials following that provision.

If renters' insurance is required, the rental agreement must specify the coverage required.

If renters' insurance is not required, the rental agreement must include a statement advising tenants to obtain renters' insurance to cover damage to or loss of personal property.

Takes effect July 1, 2013.
