Creates a public records exemption for complaints and investigation information held by the Department of Legal Affairs regarding violations of the Florida False Claims Act (s. 68.082)

Exempted information may be disclosed to law enforcement agencies or other administrative agencies performing official duties

Information becomes public once the investigation is completed, defined as when the department files its own action, closes its investigation without filing, or upon unsealing or dismissal of a qui tam action

Exemption is subject to the Open Government Sunset Review Act and will automatically repeal on October 2, 2018, unless reenacted by the Legislature

Takes effect on the same date as SB 1494 or similar legislation, if adopted in the same legislative session and becomes law
