Protects the identity of individuals who make allegations or provide information to the Office of the Inspector General of Citizens Property Insurance Corporation regarding violations of law, fraud, waste, abuse, malfeasance, mismanagement, or employee misconduct from public records disclosure, except with written consent or court order.

Designates all information relating to inspector general investigations as confidential and exempt from public records requests until the investigation is complete, and remains exempt if no violation is found.

Allows disclosure of investigation information at any time to Financial Services Commission members or the current President of the Senate or Speaker of the House of Representatives.

Codifies the exemption in Florida Statutes section 627.351(6)(x)(1)(j) and provides automatic repeal on October 2, 2018, unless the Legislature reenacts it.

Establishes the protection as necessary public policy to prevent retaliation against whistleblowers and protect subjects of investigation from reputational harm during pending investigations.
