Senate commends the Anti-Defamation League on its 100th anniversary, founded in 1913 to combat defamation of Jewish people and secure justice and fair treatment for all.

Anti-Defamation League successfully lobbied for Florida's 1950s anti-discrimination law addressing discriminatory hotel and resort advertising, and led efforts on the 1980s Hate Crimes Reporting Act and Hate Crimes Act.

Organization championed the 1990s Florida private club anti-discrimination law banning discrimination based on race, national origin, religion, handicap, gender, marital status, and age over 21.

Since 2004, Anti-Defamation League provided anti-bullying and prejudice reduction training to 4,815 teachers, 1,800 student peer leaders, and 21,274 students, impacting over 616,624 educators and students statewide.

Anti-Defamation League was principal advocate of the 2008 "Jeffrey Johnston Stand Up for All Students Act," leading to Florida's unanimous Senate passage requiring all K-12 public schools to adopt anti-bullying and anti-harassment policies.
