Amends Florida Statutes section 324.242 to create a public records exemption for personal identifying information and policy numbers of bodily injury liability and property damage insurance policies held by the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles.

Deletes the previous exemption for personal injury protection policies from the confidentiality protection.

Maintains the requirement that the department release policy numbers upon written request when a crash report is provided, to accident victims, their attorneys, or the insurer.

Subjects the exemption to the Open Government Sunset Review Act and requires the exemption to automatically repeal on October 2, 2018, unless the Legislature reenacts it.

Declares it a public necessity to protect insurance information to prevent competitor solicitation, fraud against insureds, and unauthorized solicitations from third parties.
