Creates public records exemption for the names of spouses and children of current or former public defenders, assistant public defenders, criminal conflict and civil regional counsel, and assistant criminal conflict and civil regional counsel

Exempts these family member names from public disclosure under Florida Statutes section 119.07(1) and Florida Constitution Article I, section 24(a)

Exemption is subject to the Open Government Sunset Review Act and will stand repealed on October 2, 2019, unless the Legislature reviews and reenacts it

Justifies exemption based on public safety concerns, noting these attorneys work with felons and individuals who may seek revenge against their families, and handle sensitive civil matters involving parental rights

Takes effect October 1, 2014
