Florida Legislature applies to Congress under Article V of the U.S. Constitution to call a convention for proposing a constitutional amendment limiting consecutive terms for U.S. Senate and House members.

The application references Florida voters' 1992 approval of congressional term limits with over 76 percent support and the 1995 U.S. Supreme Court ruling in U.S. Term Limits, Inc. v. Thornton that struck down state-imposed congressional term limits.

This application constitutes a continuing application under Article V until legislatures of at least two-thirds of the states make application on the same subject.

Copies of the memorial are to be sent to the President, U.S. Senate President, Speaker of the House, Florida's congressional delegation, and presiding officers of all state legislatures.
