Creates a public records exemption for information relating to participants or persons considered for participation in treatment-based drug court programs, including screening records, substance abuse screenings, behavioral health evaluations, and treatment status reports.

Permits disclosure of exempt information only upon written request from the participant/person considered or their legal representative, or to other governmental entities for screening or treatment purposes.

Requires service provider records pertaining to identity, diagnosis, prognosis, or service provision to be disclosed pursuant to s. 397.501(7).

Applies the exemption retroactively to information created before, on, or after the effective date of the law.

Exemption is subject to the Open Government Sunset Review Act and will be automatically repealed on October 2, 2019, unless the Legislature votes to reenact it.
