Increases the maximum number of physician assistants one physician may supervise from four to eight at any one time.

Authorizes physician assistants to execute practice-related activities according to their education, training, and expertise as delegated by the supervising physician unless expressly prohibited by law or rules.

Revises physician assistant licensure requirements to require applicants to pass proficiency exams and provide course transcripts showing pharmacotherapy content if seeking prescribing authority.

Clarifies that supervising physicians are not required to review and cosign charts or medical records prepared by physician assistants under their supervision.

Becomes effective July 1, 2014.
