Exempts trade secret information submitted to the Department of Business and Professional Regulation in permit applications for medical gas wholesale distributors, medical gas manufacturers, and medical oxygen retail establishments from public records disclosure requirements.

Exempts trade secret information obtained by the department during inspections of medical gas permittees from public records disclosure requirements.

Defines trade secrets according to section 812.081, Florida Statutes, and requires information to be identified as a trade secret to receive exemption.

Establishes that both exemptions are subject to the Open Government Sunset Review Act and will automatically repeal on October 2, 2019, unless the Legislature reviews and reenacts them.

Takes effect on the same date as HB 687 or similar legislation, if adopted in the same legislative session or an extension thereof.
