Amends section 212.055, Florida Statutes, relating to discretionary sales surtaxes by adding paragraph (i) to subsection (2)

Allows counties to use proceeds and accrued interest from the local government infrastructure surtax for maintenance of transportation infrastructure, notwithstanding existing paragraph (d) restrictions

Requires that any county ordinance authorizing such use of surtax proceeds must be approved by referendum as provided in the statute

Takes effect July 1, 2014
