By the 2015-2016 fiscal year, each district school board shall use at least 50 percent of annual instructional materials allocation for digital or electronic materials aligned with state standards on the state-adopted list

District school boards may use 100 percent of kindergarten instructional materials allocation and 75 percent of first grade allocation (reduced from 100 percent) to purchase materials not on the state-adopted list

Academically high-performing school districts are eligible for exemption from section 1006.40(3)(a) regarding the 50 percent requirement for digital instructional materials and from section 1006.37 regarding requisitions from state depositories

Amends Florida Statutes sections 1006.40 and 1003.621 to align instructional materials requirements across statute

Takes effect July 1, 2014
