HB 981 - Dual Enrollment Program Summary

• Exempts all dual enrollment students from paying registration, tuition, technology, and laboratory fees

• Removes requirement that home education secondary students be responsible for their own instructional materials; requires postsecondary institutions to enter into home education articulation agreements and submit them to the Department of Education by August 1

• Requires instructional materials to be made available free of charge to dual enrollment students from public high schools, home education programs, and private schools

• Establishes articulation agreement requirements for private school students participating in dual enrollment, including agreements with each student and their parent submitted by August 1

• Effective July 1, 2014
