Individuals authorized to serve process under Florida law do not commit trespass on property other than structures or conveyances when their entrance is necessary to serve process.

Authorized process servers are not subject to civil liability for trespassing when their property entry is necessary to serve process.

Employers must allow authorized process servers access to employees in a private area designated by the employer when contacted for service of process.

Amended section 810.09 to exclude authorized process servers from trespass charges when property entrance is necessary to complete service of process.

The act takes effect July 1, 2014.
