Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles shall develop Pan-Hellenic Sorority and Fraternity specialty license plates for 9 organizations: Alpha Phi Alpha, Alpha Kappa Alpha, Kappa Alpha Psi, Omega Psi Phi, Delta Sigma Theta, Phi Beta Sigma, Zeta Phi Beta, Sigma Gamma Rho, and Iota Theta Phi.

Annual use fee for each plate is $25, with each organization authorized to use up to 10 percent of collected fees for administrative costs and marketing.

Department retains all annual use fees until startup costs for developing and issuing each plate are recovered; thereafter, 5 percent of fees from each plate are distributed to the United Negro College Fund for scholarships at Florida private historically black colleges and universities.

Remaining proceeds from plate sales are distributed to the respective sorority or fraternity to promote community awareness and action through educational, economic, and cultural service activities.

Act takes effect October 1, 2014.
