CS/HB 1325 Summary

• Amends Florida Statutes s. 320.089 to allow Purple Heart license plate applicants who also qualify as disabled veterans to receive a special license plate with the international symbol of accessibility.

• Purple Heart applicants who qualify under s. 320.0842 receive the accessibility symbol plate without paying the license tax imposed by s. 320.08.

• Purple Heart applicants who do not qualify under s. 320.0842 but are eligible under ss. 320.0848 and 320.0843 may receive the accessibility symbol plate with payment of the standard license tax.

• Pearl Harbor Survivor license plate applicants who also qualify as disabled veterans receive their special plate without payment of license tax.

• Effective date: October 1, 2014.
