HB 7017 Summary

• Requires the Department of Children and Families to immediately notify the Department of Corrections and Parole Commission when a sexually violent predator with pending court-ordered or postprison release supervision is released from custody.

• Tolls (pauses) conditional release supervision periods for persons transferred to the Department of Children and Families custody under chapter 394, part V, applicable to all periods beginning on or after October 1, 2014.

• Tolls probation or community control supervision periods for persons with split sentences who are transferred to the Department of Children and Families custody under chapter 394, part V, applicable to all sentences beginning on or after October 1, 2014.

• Corrects a cross-reference in section 775.21 from subsection (11) to subsection (7) regarding specialized supervision of sexual predators by trained probation officers.

• Takes effect October 1, 2014.
