• Requires hospitals to notify obstetrical physicians at least 120 days before closing obstetrical departments or ceasing obstetrical services.

• Permits hospitals operating as Level I, Level II, or pediatric trauma centers for specified periods to continue at that level and be eligible for 7-year approval renewal under certain conditions.

• Caps trauma activation fees at $15,000 until July 1, 2015, and requires trauma centers to post fees in the facility and on their website.

• Creates telehealth registration requirements for out-of-state health care professionals providing services via telehealth technology, including registration fees, licensing verification, and restrictions on opening physical offices in Florida.

• Expands scope of practice for independent nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and pharmacists including controlled substance prescribing authority, vaccine administration, and death certification abilities with specified training and supervision requirements.
