Designates March 26, 2014, as "FAMU Day" in the State of Florida to recognize Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University's contributions as an institution of higher education.

FAMU was founded in 1887, designated a land grant institution in 1891, and designated a university in 1953, offering undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs across 14 colleges and schools plus one public health institute.

FAMU is a leading producer of African American baccalaureate degree holders, business management graduates, and pharmacists in the nation, with faculty ranked second nationally in research publications on global science issues according to the National Science Foundation.

The university maintains affordability with 54 percent first-generation college students and 66 percent Federal Pell Grant recipients (the most of any Florida public university), while producing graduates with the second-highest starting salaries among Florida public university graduates.

Directs that a copy of the resolution be presented to Dr. Larry Robinson, interim president of Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University.
