Designates the week of April 7-13, 2014, as "Health Information Technology Week" in the State of Florida.

Recognizes health information technology and electronic health records as essential tools for improving patient care quality, ensuring patient safety, reducing duplicative tests and paperwork, and lowering health care costs.

Acknowledges Florida's commitment to supporting electronic health records adoption while protecting patient privacy and improving clinical outcomes and access to care.

Notes that Health Information Technology Week has been supported nationally since 2006 to raise public awareness of benefits achieved through health care technology implementation.

Requires a copy of the resolution be presented to the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) as acknowledgment of the state's support for health information technology initiatives.
