Allows limited English proficient (LEP) students who have received ESOL program services for 2 years or less to be exempted from state standardized assessments including FCAT, end-of-course assessments, common core assessments, and future state standardized academic assessments.

Exemption requires approval by a majority of the student's English Language Learner committee, which must determine the exemption is appropriate.

Student must be enrolled in an ESOL program operated according to the school district's approved English Language Learner plan to qualify for exemption.

Effective date: July 1, 2014.
