Requires each district school board to provide disability history and awareness instruction in all K-12 public schools during the first 2 weeks of October each year, beginning with the 2015-2016 school year.

Mandates instruction include the history of disability, the disability rights movement, and contributions of individuals with disabilities, integrated into existing curriculum through lesson plans, assemblies, or school activities.

Allows instruction to be augmented by presentations from individuals with disabilities who are approved by the school or district and have passed background screening requirements under section 1012.465.

Requires each public school to establish a disability history and awareness advisory council consisting of six teachers and one community member with a disability, meeting at least four times annually.

Directs advisory councils to provide curriculum input, help locate disability presenters, and submit annual reports to the superintendent by August 1st with recommendations on the school's disability awareness status.
