Creates a public records exemption for the names of spouses and children of current or former public defenders, assistant public defenders, criminal conflict and civil regional counsel, and assistant criminal conflict and civil regional counsel.

Exempts this information from Florida's public records law (s. 119.07(1)) and the state constitution's public records provision (s. 24(a), Art. I).

The exemption for names of spouses and children is subject to the Open Government Sunset Review Act and will automatically repeal on October 2, 2019, unless the Legislature reenacts it.

Finds that public necessity justifies the exemption because these attorneys work with felons and crime victims, and disclosure of family members' names could enable individuals to seek revenge or cause harm.

Takes effect October 1, 2014.
