Requires instructional staff in public schools to provide instruction about the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001, and their impact on the nation.

Adds instruction about 9/11 as a required component under section 1003.42 of Florida Statutes, subject to State Board of Education rules and district school board policies.

Mandates that instruction use materials meeting highest standards for professionalism and historic accuracy, following prescribed courses of study and approved teaching methods.

Encourages the State Board of Education to adopt standards and pursue assessment related to 9/11 instruction requirements.

Effective date: July 1, 2014.
