Reduces professional geological work experience requirement from 7 years to 5 years of verified experience, with minimum 3 years under supervision of a licensed geologist or qualified professional engineer.

Eliminates credit toward experience requirements for undergraduate and graduate study in geological sciences; removes detailed criteria for calculating experience credit.

Creates new registration category for geologist-in-training who successfully completes the fundamentals of geology portion of the licensure examination with at least 30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours of geological coursework.

Exempts registered geologist-in-training from retaking the fundamentals of geology portion when applying for full professional geologist licensure, allowing them to take only remaining examination portions.
