Modifies reemployment rules for retired instructional personnel at district school boards, requiring a 1-year probationary contract (as defined in s. 1012.335(1)) instead of an annual contractual basis, with the option for an annual contract upon successful completion of probation.

Clarifies that retirees employed under ss. 121.091 and 238.181 are not eligible for professional service contracts and were never intended to be eligible, declaring the holding in Orange County School Board v. Rachman and Schuman (87 So. 3d 48, Fla. 5th DCA 2012) contrary to legislative intent.

Applies the probationary contract requirement to developmental research schools and charter schools reemploying retired instructional personnel, with the same post-probation annual contract option.

Preserves any professional service contracts inadvertently awarded to retirees before the effective date of the act.

Makes grammatical and technical corrections to related statutes (ss. 121.091, 238.181, and 1012.33) including replacing "shall" with active voice constructions and standardizing terminology.
