Prohibits persons with concealed weapons licenses from openly carrying handguns or carrying concealed weapons into hospitals, mental health facilities, or nursing homes, with exceptions for security guards employed by those facilities and law enforcement officers.

Makes grammatical changes to existing prohibited locations for concealed weapons, including police stations, detention facilities, courthouses, polling places, schools, airports, and federal prohibition areas.

Clarifies that judges may carry concealed weapons in courtrooms and may determine who else may carry them in their courtroom.

Establishes that violating these prohibitions constitutes a misdemeanor of the second degree, punishable under Florida Statutes sections 775.082 or 775.083.

Takes effect July 1, 2014.
