Department of Health must convene a task force to evaluate state surveillance, mandatory reporting, public notification, prevention, and response activities related to antibiotic-resistant bacteria.

Task force must include representatives from licensed healthcare facilities, healthcare practitioners, Agency for Health Care Administration, and Department of Health, with at least two certified infection control practitioners.

Task force shall evaluate the list of reportable antibiotic-resistant bacteria, reporting procedures, notification procedures, and response procedures including coordination with CDC, facilities, and governments.

Task force must submit a report, action plan, and legislative recommendations to the Governor, President of the Senate, and Speaker of the House by July 1, 2015.

Nursing home facilities must assess residents for pneumococcal vaccine eligibility within 5 working days of admission and vaccinate when indicated within 60 days per CDC recommendations.
