CS for CS for SB 1018 Summary

• Removes requirement for private investigator applicants to provide written statements from fingerprint technicians or physicians regarding inability to obtain legible fingerprints.

• Revises Class "G" security guard firearms recertification training to require 4 hours annually and expands approved handgun types to include .40 caliber and .45 ACP weapons.

• Authorizes Class "D" and Class "G" licensees performing bodyguard or executive protection services to carry concealed firearms while wearing plain clothes.

• Modifies bond requirements for health studios, commercial telephone sellers, pawnbrokers, and travel sellers by making bonds payable to the Department rather than the State and establishing administrative claim procedures with 120-day filing deadlines.

• Creates new lubricating oil standards and labeling requirements; repeals the Dance Studio Act; and allows sealed criminal history records to be acknowledged for concealed weapons/firearm licensing purposes.
