Division of Hotels and Restaurants must develop a food allergy awareness video that food service managers are required to view and pass as part of their certification requirements, effective for managers hired after July 1, 2014.

Public food service establishments must display a prominent poster about food allergy awareness developed by the division in consultation with Food Allergy Research & Education, Inc. and the Florida Restaurant and Lodging Association.

Operators must include a notice on all menus informing customers of their obligation to inform servers about food allergies and stating the establishment's immunity from liability if customers fail to disclose allergies.

Public food service establishments receive immunity from liability for injury, death, or property damage caused by a customer's food allergy if the customer fails to inform the server about the allergy.

Division shall develop a voluntary "Food Allergy Friendly" designation program for public food service establishments that maintain and provide a master list of all ingredients used in food preparation, with participating establishments listed on the division's website.
